Robinhood has announced a series of new crypto, blockchain, and international expansion initiatives as part of its ‘The World is Flat’ product event in London.
The company unveiled the public mainnet launch of Robinhood Chain, a Layer 2 blockchain built on the Arbitrum, designed to support DeFi applications and tokenised real-world assets.
Robinhood also launched Stock Tokens, enabling eligible users in more than 120 countries to access tokenised equities through the Robinhood Wallet.
In Europe, the firm expanded its perpetual futures offering beyond cryptocurrencies to include commodities, ETFs, and foreign exchange products.
Eligible users will be able to trade assets including gold, silver, Brent crude oil, and the EUR/USD currency pair with leverage of up to 10x, says the firm.
Robinhood also announced plans to launch crypto trading in the UK, while confirming its expansion into Canada following its acquisition of WonderFi.
The company added that its Singapore business has received a capital markets services licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore, paving the way for future brokerage services in the country.
In the US, Robinhood said it is rolling out Robinhood Earn, a decentralised lending product that allows eligible customers to lend USDG stablecoins through a self-custody wallet.
The company also announced plans to introduce AI-powered agentic crypto trading capabilities for eligible US users.
Johann Kerbrat, senior vice president and general manager of crypto and international at Robinhood, says: “We’re bringing the best of traditional finance and DeFi together, and in doing so, expanding financial ownership to every corner of the globe.”
