Bitfinex Securities, a regulated platform for raising capital and trading tokenised securities, has opened capital raises for Crest Fund and the Liberty Bitcoin Accumulation Fund (LBAF).

Crest and LBAF — quantitative hedge funds managed by CMCC Global — are set to become the first tokenised fund-of-funds offerings issued under El Salvador’s framework for digital assets, according to Bitfinex Securities.

The capital raise period for both offerings will be open to eligible investors until 29 October 2026 and will be available for secondary-market trading on the Bitfinex Securities platform following the completion of the raise.

Tokens will be issued by CMCC and minted using Tether’s real-world asset tokenisation platform, Hadron, with the digital securities issued and distributed through Bitfinex Securities' El Salvador arm.

CREST and LBAF tokens are minted against the underlying participating shares of the fund and burned upon redemption, maintaining a one-to-one economic representation of the relevant fund interests, with transfers subject to Know Your Customer and anti-money laundering controls.

Tokens can be self-custodied using approved, whitelisted addresses.

Speaking on the launch, Martin Baumann, co-founder and managing partner of CMCC Global, says: “We believe regulated tokenised markets such as those facilitated by Bitfinex Securities represent a more efficient way for investment funds to be issued, distributed, and traded, while providing investors with access to strategies developed specifically for digital-asset markets.”

Jesse Knutson, head of operations at Bitfinex Securities, adds: “These offerings expand the range of investment structures being brought to market through Bitfinex Securities and are another example of how tokenisation can connect issuers and investors through more open and technologically advanced capital-market infrastructure.”
