Kinexys by J.P. Morgan has expanded its US dollar-denominated deposit token JPM Coin to Ethereum, available for use by the firm’s institutional clients.
JPM Coin supports peer-to-peer transfers between institutional clients within the Ethereum Virtual Machine ecosystem, including Layer 2 blockchain Base, designed to provide a new onchain base liquidity layer for US dollar deposits.
J.P. Morgan says the initiative responds to the growing demand for natively onchain cash solutions from crypto and real-world asset (RWA) transaction participants.
JPM Coin joins the firm’s tokenised money market funds on Ethereum, which were made available on the blockchain earlier in 2026.
Commenting on the addition, co-founder of Ethereum Institutional Matthew Dawson says: “J.P. Morgan Payments’ choice reflects what Ethereum uniquely offers institutions: unmatched liquidity depth, tokenised assets, applications, and security as the most proven public blockchain.
“It's a clear signal that institutional finance is moving onto public, verifiable infrastructure.”
Emma Landriault, global head of Kinexys Labs at Kinexys by J.P. Morgan, adds: “Issuing JPM Coin first on Base and now on Ethereum is a meaningful step towards providing our institutional clients with multi-chain optionality for moving wholesale money across both the Web3 and traditional finance ecosystems.”
