The US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has granted Ripple final approval for its federally supervised entity, Ripple National Trust Bank (RNTB).

The authorisation follows conditional approval from the OCC, granted in December 2025.

RNTB will be able to manage the segregated reserves supporting the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin, act as collateral trustee of the reserves for RLUSD holders, and provide fiduciary digital asset custody services.

Ripple’s New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS)-regulated limited-purpose trust company, Standard Custody & Trust Company, will continue to issue RLUSD, with BNY serving as the stablecoin’s primary reserve custodian.

Commenting on the approval, CEO of Ripple Brad Garlinghouse says: “We’ve spent over a decade building regulated financial infrastructure that institutions can actually use at scale.

“A national trust charter gives us an even stronger foundation for RLUSD and the institutional products we’re building across payments, custody and capital markets.”

Ripple says it will continue to work with the OCC, NYDFS, and other regulators as RNTB commences operations and the US implements the GENIUS Act framework.
