AX Coin Bahrain and ARP Digital have entered into a collaboration to connect stablecoin infrastructure with institutional over-the-counter (OTC) liquidity, payments, and settlement services.

The collaboration will see AX Coin, a stablecoin issuer owned by Solowin Holdings, provide its issuance and reserve infrastructure, while ARP Digital will provide its institutional OTC desk, on and off ramp conversion capabilities, and international settlement rails.

The partnership will initially focus on Bahrain and the UAE, with plans to expand into additional international markets.

Under the collaboration, the firms will work to bring AX Coin onchain and improve interoperability with other stablecoin ecosystems.

The companies say the infrastructure will support cross-border payments and settlement for corporates, financial institutions, payment fintechs, and payment service providers.

AX Coin is regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), with the firm stating that it is the first licensed stablecoin issuer regulated by the central bank and the issuer of the world’s first Shariah-compliant stablecoin.

ARP Digital provides digital capital infrastructure, including institutional OTC trading, conversion services, and cross-border settlement capabilities.

Xavier George, managing director of AXG and CEO of AX Coin, says: “This collaboration brings together two critical pieces of the stablecoin ecosystem — regulated digital money and real-world payment and liquidity infrastructure.

“Our objective is to make AX Coin usable across the flows that corporates and payment fintechs already depend on, while enabling faster, more transparent, and more cost-efficient cross-border settlement.”

Abdulla Kanoo, co-founder and co-CEO of ARP Digital, adds: “ARP Digital was built to connect global digital capital with the financial rails of the GCC.

“Working with AX Coin allows us to combine our institutional liquidity and settlement capabilities with regulated stablecoin infrastructure and create practical use cases for businesses and payment providers.

“Together, we can help accelerate the adoption of stablecoins as a more efficient way to move value globally.”
