Provider of real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation and interoperability solutions, R3, has announced the launch of Corda protocol on behalf of R3 Foundation, said to bring institutional-grade curated RWA yield to Solana, in addition to being fully composable and integrated into Solana DeFi.

Corda Protocol intends to streamline RWA distribution on Solana for TradFi issuers, while providing curators with the infrastructure to compose RWA-anchored strategies.

R3 Foundation was formed with the goal of bringing Corda protocol to market in a Web3-native way, with R3 acting as a pivotal service provider for the delivery of the protocol.

Corda protocol also provides access to Solana-native yield vault smart contracts, allowing for the deployment and management of onchain investment allocations across vetted RWAs and DeFi-native assets.

According to the company, the protocol is said to solve DeFi’s challenges with broader market adoption and liquidity due to its trusted infrastructure and diversified RWA yield supported by protocol-native liquidity mechanisms.

R3 is leveraging Solana’s Token-2022 standards, in conjunction with its built-in privacy and compliance tooling, to provide issuers with a compliant way to access onchain asset distribution.

David Rutter, founder of R3, believes that “with the Corda Protocol, TradeFi institutions can issue these assets directly to where this demand exists: onchain”.

CEO of R3 Labs, Richard G. Brown, adds: “Corda protocol will enable institutions to bring these assets onchain, packaged to meet these investors’ needs with institutional-grade security and compliance.”
