Amundi, an European asset manager, has launched an Amundi Bitcoin exchange traded product (ETP), offering transparent exposure to Bitcoin.

The Amundi Bitcoin ETP is fully backed by Bitcoin, with assets held in digital wallets provided by CACEIS.

The firm says the Amundi Bitcoin ETP is the first issuance programme approved by the French Financial Markets Authority (AMF).

Listed on Euronext Paris, the Amundi Bitcoin ETP will be available in France to professional investors and retail investors through a securities account, with access to be gradually extended to other European countries.

Benoit Sorel, head of ETF and Index business line at Amundi, notes: “With the Amundi Bitcoin ETP, we are responding to investor demand for a transparent and efficient solution that allows them to incorporate exposure to Bitcoin into their investment portfolios.”
