DigiFT, a digital asset exchange for institutional-grade real-world assets, has partnered with Franklin Templeton to make the Benji technology platform available to accredited and institutional investors.

Benji offers various tokenisation services, including US government securities strategies that accrue continuous yield through Franklin Templeton’s Intraday Yield mechanism.

The platform is also said to support 24/7 transferability between permissioned wallets, near-instant onchain settlement, and deployable off-exchange collateral for institutional market participants.

DigiFT has Capital Markets Services and Recognised Market Operator licences from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), in addition to Type 1 and Type 1 licences from the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong.

Speaking on the partnership, Henry Zhang, founder and group CEO of DigiFT, says the firm’s work with Franklin Templeton is indicative of its commitment to giving institutional investors onchain financial instruments at the “regulatory standard they require”, marking the “beginning of a long-term strategic collaboration to bring tokenised solutions to market”.

Chetan Karkhanis, senior vice president, digital assets partnership development at Franklin Templeton, adds: “The partners we choose reflect our long-term commitment, not just our near-term distribution objective towards bringing the benefits of blockchain and tokenisation to the industry.”
