Securitize, a platform for tokenising real-world assets, has reached an agreement with Cantor Fitzgerald to enable public companies to conduct initial public offerings (IPOs) and follow-on offerings using blockchain-based infrastructure to tokenise securities.

The initiative is designed to enable public companies to raise capital and issue securities onchain, gaining access to benefits such as enhanced transparency, improved operational efficiency, and modernised ownership records.

Additionally, the offering will operate within established TradFi IPO capital markets frameworks.

Cantor will leverage its equity capital markets and trading capabilities, with Securitize providing tokenisation infrastructure that will be used to issue, distribute, and service onchain securities.

Securitize Markets, the firm’s regulated broker-dealer affiliate, will participate in the offering and settlement process.

Commenting on the agreement, Carlos Domingo, co-founder and CEO of Securitize, says: “This partnership brings together the capabilities required to support capital formation onchain within existing regulatory frameworks.

“It's another step toward a future where digital securities become a standard part of how capital markets operate.”

Pascal Banelier, co-CEO and global head of equities at Cantor, adds: “Tokenisation is becoming part of mainstream capital markets, and partnering with Securitize allows us to bring the rigor of traditional equity capital markets to onchain settlement and distribution.”
