Tempo, an institutional Layer 1 blockchain, has integrated with real-world asset tokenisation firm Securitize to make the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL) available on its platform.
BUIDL is a tokenised short-term Treasury fund, offering investors US dollar yield exposure through shares backed by cash, US Treasury bills, and repurchase agreements.
Eligible Tempo clients will be able to access the Moody’s Aaa-mf rated fund, hold stablecoin balances, and access yield through tokenised shares.
The firms say that, by bringing BUIDL to Tempo’s blockchain, they have expanded access to institutional-grade yield infrastructure, designed for high-volume, low-cost, regulated financial activity.
Securitize is supporting the integration with its tokenisation and transfer agent infrastructure.
Regarding the partnership, Ninad Nirgudkar, go-to-market at Tempo, says: “Institutions want the benefits of stablecoins without giving up access to familiar products like Treasury funds.
“With the participation of companies like BlackRock on Tempo, we are building the infrastructure for yield-bearing balances, treasury management, and settlement onchain.”
Co-founder and CEO of Securitize, Carlos Domingo, adds: “We’re excited to integrate Securitize with Tempo for the first time, bringing BUIDL to its growing ecosystem of companies building the next generation of payments, treasury management and onchain financial services.”
Tempo and Securitize say that the integration is indicative of broader collaboration across tokenised finance, as more firms seek to find ways to connect regulated financial instruments with onchain payment and settlement infrastructure.
