Solidus Labs, a compliance and monitoring firm, has been chosen by digital asset exchange BTSE to underpin its trade surveillance programme.

The initiative will see Solidus Labs’ HALO Trade Surveillance module used by BTSE to detect market abuse and manipulation across its digital asset and tokenised real-world asset (RWA) markets.

According to the firms, BTSE’s compliance team will gain behavioural and risk-based detection across a range of manipulation typologies.

HALO will also be used to fine-tune algorithm parameters, simulate scenarios, and reduce false positives, customising detection to BTSE-specific trading patterns and business requirements, in line with regulatory compliance.

Market Inspection will be utilised to extend trading visibility beyond BTSE to gain broader context on market-wide behaviour.

The collaboration is said to be indicative of BTSE’s “commitment to embedding institutional-grade oversight into its trading infrastructure”, and adds to its white-label exchange offering, which allows clients to build and operate their own digital asset venues using its technology.

Commenting on the partnership, Jeff Mei, chief operating officer at BTSE, says: “Since we've expanded our services to serve users in many different regions and countries, it's become increasingly difficult to monitor each and every transaction for potential market abuse and manipulation.

“Deploying smart solutions from Solidus Labs will enable us to do so more efficiently, so that we can maintain a better playing field for our traders.”

Diana Xu, head of APAC at Solidus Labs, adds: “BTSE has built a reputation for operating at the leading edge of digital asset trading, which requires surveillance technology built for the same speed and complexity.

“We're proud to support BTSE as they expand into new asset classes, including tokenised RWAs, with market integrity built in from day one.”
