Taurus has joined the XDC Network, an open-source Layer-1 blockchain, as an institutional validator.

By operating a validator node, Taurus will participate directly in the XDC Network’s consensus infrastructure, where it will help validate transactions and support the network’s security.

Taurus says its decision reflects a “wider trend among institutional digital asset and infrastructure providers” to participate directly in blockchain network infrastructure.

XDC Network’s validator set already includes SBI Holdings, Deutsche Telekom, HashKey Cloud, NTT DOCOMO Global, Hex Trust, Cointelegraph Decentralization Guardians, and Republic, among others.

Speaking on the initiative, Ritesh Kakkad, co-founder of XDC Network, says: “Taurus works with institutions that will not compromise on security or compliance.

“Their choice to run a node here says as much about where regulated finance is heading as it does about XDC.”

Lamine Brahimi, co-founder and managing partner at Taurus, adds: “By joining XDC as a validator, we are contributing directly to the security and resilience of a network focused on trade finance and tokenised assets.”
