Coinbase has integrated with Chainlink and the DataLink platform to make its exchange data available onchain.

The initiative intends to provide DeFi markets with direct access to significant market information and enable new onchain markets throughout derivatives, tokenised real-world assets (RWAs), among others.

DataLink will provide protocols with access to a range of Coinbase’s datasets onchain, including order book data, spot prices, perpetual futures data, and other datasets via the Coinbase Derivatives Exchange.

Commenting on the integration, Liz Martin, vice president, Coinbase Markets, says: “The Chainlink data standard is battle-tested, institutional-grade infrastructure, making it the clear choice for bringing Coinbase's market data into onchain markets.”

Chief business officer at Chainlink Labs, Johann Eid, adds: “By delivering institutional-grade exchange data to blockchains, we are proving that the future of finance requires a foundation of uncompromising security.”
