Coincheck Group — a provider of digital asset trade execution, custody, staking, and asset management services — and institutional wallet infrastructure firm DFNS have formed a partnership.
The collaboration focuses on digital asset wallet technology in Japan, with DFNS’s capabilities deployed to support Coincheck’s Japanese subsidiary.
The firms also aim to aid the development of secure, institutional-grade custody for Japanese financial institutions.
Through the collaboration, Coincheck is seeking to fulfil the institutional expansion and digital asset operations scale it requires, utilising DFNS’s wallet-as-a-service platform for transaction lifecycle management, workflow orchestration, policy and governance controls, key management, and third-party service integration.
According to DFNS, its platform supports in excess of 100 blockchain networks, offering deployment across SaaS, hybrid, and on-premises configurations with native hardware security module support to meet jurisdictional key management requirements.
Commenting on the initiative, Pascal St-Jean, CEO of Coincheck Group, says: “Coincheck Group has forged trust with Japanese retail customers over the last decade and extending that into institutional services requires building a different class of custody infrastructure.
“DFNS’s wallet technology and institutional expertise enhance our existing capabilities.”
Clarisse Hagège, CEO of DFNS, adds: “We are pleased to work alongside Coincheck Group as it extends its leadership into institutional services and to bring our wallet infrastructure to the Japanese market.”
