Michele Curtoni has left SIX Digital Assets (SDX) following five years with the firm to join Citi as head of Europe for digital assets, tokenisation, and commercialisation services.

At SDX, he most recently served as head of digital assets and financial information strategy.

Curtoni began his career as an associate at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), going on to lead group strategy for mergers and acquisitions before transitioning to emerging technologies.

He left LSEG to join State Street as vice president and digital assets lead.

Curtoni has also served on several boards and leadership panels: as a member of the organising committee for post-trade distributed ledger technology at the Global Blockchain Business Council, on the blockchain advisory board at FinTech Connect, and as a member of AsiaNext’s board.

He holds a bachelor’s in business and market economics from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Italy, and a master’s in economics and international financial economics from the University of Warwick.

Commenting on his new position, Curtoni says: “SDX has been a great run, where many colleagues turned great friends.

“Now I'm thrilled to join Citi, a fantastic organisation, working with Ryan Rugg and her super team to take Citi Token Services to the next level.”
