Arf, a Swiss-regulated financial institution, has partnered with Ripple to bring settlement liquidity underpinned by RLUSD, Ripple’s US dollar-backed stablecoin, to the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

The initiative is designed to provide payment, credit card, and remittance firms with working capital across markets to pre-fund payment flows while awaiting settlement.

Arf says its short-duration settlement liquidity is typically repaid within one to five days as cross-border payments settle.

Once XRPL’s native lending infrastructure goes live, Arf intends to bring more of its settlement liquidity directly onto the ledger and will continue to handle underwriting and working capital decisions offchain.

Speaking on the collaboration, Ali Erhat Nalbant, co-founder and CEO of Arf, says: “Payment companies need capital to keep money moving while they wait for funds to settle.

“Through this partnership with Ripple, we’re bringing stablecoin working capital to the XRP Ledger to help payment companies bridge that gap and support more payment volume.”

Jasmine Cooper, head of product for RippleX at Ripple, adds: “Payment companies need fast access to capital across borders, without tying up significant amounts of liquidity.

“XRPL provides fast, efficient settlement, while RLUSD provides a regulated dollar stablecoin.”
