Ant International has completed real-time cross-bank liquidity transactions with its partners as part of its participation in EnsembleTX, the pilot phase of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority’s (HKMA) tokenised digital currency initiative, Project Ensemble.
The launch follows the HKMA’s announcement of tokenised deposit transfers under EnsembleTX.
Between September and October 2026, Ant International conducted live Hong Kong dollar interbank flows with Bank of China (Hong Kong), China Construction Bank (Asia), and HSBC.
Ant International initiated the transfers through its proprietary blockchain-based wholesale settlement platform, WhaleRTP, and executed them using tokenised deposits settled through the HKMA’s Central Bank Money (CeBM).
According to Ant International, the transactions were near-instantaneous, moving from payment instruction to receipt within five minutes.
The firm also plans to transition to autonomous agentic treasury operations by integrating its FalconTST predictive AI engine directly with WhaleRTP execution rails.
Speaking on the initiative, Kelvin Li, general manager of platform tech and senior vice president at Ant International, says: “EnsembleTX has laid the groundwork for agentic treasury.
“By pairing real-time intelligence from FalconTST with WhaleRTP’s proven settlement layer, AI agents can now make and execute decisions in continuous, automated flows.”
