Taurus has partnered with regulated stablecoin issuer Paxos to bring Global Dollar (USDG) issuance and redemption to Taurus-NETWORK, the firm’s interbank venue that connects institutions, issuers, and liquidity providers.

USDG is backed one-to-one by US dollar deposits, short-term US government securities, and cash equivalents.

Paxos’ regional entities issue the token and are licensed and supervised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority, respectively.

According to the companies, institutions connected to the Taurus platform can now mint and burn USDG directly with Paxos using their existing network custody infrastructure.

Newly minted tokens settle directly into Taurus wallets, and upon redemption, the stablecoin is burned, and US dollars are returned to the holder.

Additional infrastructure, intermediary venues, or operational stacks are not required, the firms say.

Speaking on the collaboration, Taurus-NETWORK head of partnerships Clémentine Drouot says: “Paxos brings a regulated dollar stablecoin and a strong track record in issuance.

“Together, we want to make USDG a practical choice for institutional clients.”

Guillaume Kendall, EU growth lead at Paxos, adds: “Partnering with Taurus brings it to a network of banks and financial institutions across Europe and beyond, and we’re excited to grow that reach together.”
