Caladan, a proprietary trading group and digital asset liquidity provider, has partnered with electronic trading venue Spotex to expand access to institutional cryptocurrency liquidity.
Spotex’s platform spans FX, precious metals, and digital assets.
Through the collaboration, Caladan will provide digital asset liquidity to Spotex’s institutional trading network, combining its crypto trading capabilities with Spotex’s client base, which includes banks, brokers, hedge funds, and asset managers.
Caladan provides liquidity across over 110 spot, swap, and contract for difference (CFD) markets, with automated digital asset and 24/5 fiat settlement, onboarding, and post-trade workflows.
The initiative aims to build on Spotex’s presence in institutional electronic trading and continued expansion into digital assets by integrating Caladan’s capabilities.
Speaking on the partnership, Julia Zhou, president and co-founder of Caladan, says: “Institutional participation in digital assets increasingly depends on bringing together deep crypto-native liquidity with the execution standards and infrastructure that firms already expect from traditional markets.
“By providing liquidity through Spotex, we can make Caladan's pricing and execution capabilities accessible to a broader base of institutional counterparties.”
CEO of Spotex John Miesner adds: “This collaboration supports our objective of giving brokers, hedge funds, and asset managers access to high-quality digital asset execution through the same institutional infrastructure and workflows they expect in FX.”
The firms intend to further utilise their capabilities to support institutions entering the digital asset market or expanding their activities.
