ClearBank, a real-time clearing and embedded banking provider, has appointed Ken Johnstone as chief product officer, bringing over two decades of financial services experience to the position.
Johnstone will lead product strategy, scaling the bank’s platform and capabilities across the UK and Europe, with the latter having seen the recent launch of its digital asset rails.
His responsibilities will include advancing ClearBank’s product proposition across payments, accounts, and embedded banking, supporting its clients across fintech, financial services, and corporates.
Prior to the move, Johnstone most recently served as chief product officer for two NatWest units: Boxed, its banking-as-a-service solution, and Mettle, a standalone business banking platform.
Commenting on the appointment, Mark Fairless, CEO of ClearBank, says: “Ken brings the product vision, technical depth and commercial experience we need as ClearBank scales across the UK and Europe.
“His track record in digital banking and embedded finance will be invaluable as we continue to expand our platform and deliver the capabilities our clients need to grow.”
Johnstone comments: “As our clients continue to scale and innovate, there is a real opportunity to further develop the platform and introduce new products that support their ambitions.
“I’m really looking forward to working with the team to build on that progress and support our clients in the next phase of ClearBank’s growth.”
