BitGo has opened its new Singapore office as it expands its presence in APAC, with the country serving as the firm’s regional hub.
BitGo Singapore received its Major Payment Institution (MPI) licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in August 2024.
The firm says the new location reflects an increase in both its employees and clients within the APAC region, with the latter including governments, regulated financial institutions, payment service providers, fintechs, digital asset businesses, and high-net-worth and accredited investors.
Singapore contains the largest trading desk of the company’s institutional trading and financing business, BitGo Prime.
According to BitGo, its trading volumes in the country have more than doubled in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period in 2025.
Commenting on the expansion, Angela Ang, managing director, APAC and president at BitGo Singapore, remarks: “Two years ago, BitGo Singapore received its MPI license from MAS, and since then, we have built a real home for BitGo in the region.
“We believe the growth we have seen since then comes down to something simple — institutions across the region are trusting us with more of their business, more often.”
Stefan von Haenisch, managing director and head of BitGo Prime, adds: “Singapore puts us where our APAC clients are and connects them to the same global liquidity network we offer institutions around the world.
“The growth of the desk here is a reflection of the increasingly important role Asia Pacific plays in BitGo’s global business.”
The new office will support continued hiring across client coverage and business operations roles in Singapore, as BitGo seeks to further build its regional presence.
