BNP Paribas’ Securities Services business is reorganising its digital assets department which the firm says sharpens the department’s focus on scaling digital assets capabilities and developing future client offerings.
The department operates under Philippe Benoit, head of strategic business development and transformation, with Zineddine Alla joining Securities Services as head of digital assets.
Alla is based in Paris, reporting to Benoit, and in his new role will steer Securities Services’ digital assets strategy while also leading the department's continued development across client segments, product domains, and geographies.
Wayne Hughes also joins the firm as digital assets market and client engagement lead. Hughes will drive and support Securities Services’ digital assets product development and value proposition, where the firm says he has been instrumental since the department's inception.
Speaking on the reorganisation, Benoit says: “As the adoption of digital assets accelerates across the financial industry, we are witnessing a market shift from experimentation towards commercialisation and industrialisation for the more mature use cases.
“This reorganisation positions us to capitalise on that momentum as we continue to develop a full value chain coverage.”
