Annamite Capital, an institutional digital asset investment manager, has launched its enterprise treasury management platform, which aims to help publicly traded Bitcoin holders transition their holdings into productive assets.
The platform, which will be available to eligible institutional investors, features the firm’s separately managed accounts (SMAs) function, in which clients retain legal ownership of their Bitcoin while gaining exposure to Annamite’s asset-specific yield programme.
According to Annamite, its platform intends to generate Bitcoin-denominated returns via a “diversified portfolio of specialist market-neutral investment strategies”, which include arbitrage, quantitative trading, and other approaches.
While the initial focus is on Bitcoin, the firm says it also supports treasury mandates for other digital assets, including Ether and XRP.
Commenting on the launch, Tom Geary, co-founder and managing partner of Annamite Capital, says that “corporate Bitcoin adoption has entered a new phase” and the industry is evolving in the same manner as insurance companies in the 1990s, by turning “their balance sheets into professionally managed portfolios”.
He adds: “Our goal is to help generate Bitcoin-denominated returns while maintaining institutional standards.”
Within the SMA structure, assets will remain with qualified custodians or in approved triparty arrangements, with trading activity taking place through delegated authority and an off-exchange settlement structure, according to Annamite.
