Blockchain.com, a cryptocurrency services company, has made a strategic investment in blockchain infrastructure firm OpenWorld as part of a multi-year partnership to embed institutional trading, liquidity, and distribution infrastructure into the firm’s real-world asset (RWA) platform.
The agreement will see Blockchain.com support OpenWorld across institutional market access, trading execution, and treasury management as the blockchain infrastructure company expands its global tokenisation and advisory services.
Commenting on the partnership, Matthew Shaw, CEO and co-founder of OpenWorld, says: “We’ve made a deliberate decision to build OpenWorld’s infrastructure layer alongside best-in-class institutional counterparties.
“Blockchain.com brings the execution depth, product breadth, and regulatory infrastructure that our clients and pipeline demand.”
Al Turnbull, managing director, institutional client services at Blockchain.com, adds: “Partnering with OpenWorld is a natural step forward for our institutional business.
“By connecting our networks, we are delivering a seamless, secure pipeline for institutions looking to launch tokens and manage digital assets at scale.”
OpenWorld and Blockchain.com also say that they intend to develop joint market-ready initiatives, origination efforts, and client outreach to advance broader tokenised RWA adoption across both institutional and private markets.
