Pontoro has launched its Automated Liquidity Pool (ALP) — a single investment pool pairing liquid money market assets with private market funds, using rules-based pricing to manage liquidity — on the Stellar network.

ALP is being launched in conjunction with the Stellar network’s non-profit, the Stellar Development Foundation (SDF), and UK-based regulated digital asset exchange and custodian Archax.

Pontoro is supplying the technology, modelling, and operating infrastructure for ALP, while the pool’s manager maintains authority over investment strategy, asset selection, valuation, and governance.

Archax is issuing the pool’s interests as permissioned tokens on Stellar.

ALP is designed for continuously priced liquidity, widening the discount required on new private-asset purchases as its liquid share falls.

Redemption requests from the pool's own investors draw on the liquid sleeve, allowing private assets to remain invested, and a fully depleted sleeve may result in redemptions being delayed, reduced, or suspended in line with the offering documents.

ALP also adjusts pricing and yield under rules set in advance, which helps move the pool back to its target balance, Pontoro says.

Commenting on the launch, president and chief growth officer at SDF Jose Fernandez da Ponte says: “The Stellar network was built for real-world assets, and liquidity is the layer that turns tokenised private funds into a working market.

“The ALP aims to show what is possible when cash, credit, and tokenisation meet on the same open network.”

Antonio Vitti, CEO and co-founder of Pontoro, adds: “Private markets have engineered nearly every layer of their infrastructure except one: liquidity.

“That is the missing layer the ALP is designed to provide.”

Archax’s chief revenue officer Nick Donovan notes: “Issuing interests in the pool as permissioned tokens through regulated digital-market infrastructure gives investors the controls they expect, verified ownership, and clear records, together with the speed and programmability of a modern network.”
