Talos, a provider of technology for digital asset trading and portfolio management, has hired Kelly Ye as its head of research.

She will oversee Talos’s research programme, serving asset managers, hedge funds, banks, brokers, and other institutions across the platform and broader market.

The appointment follows Talos’s 2025 acquisition of Coin Metrics, adding market and network data, indices, and onchain analytics to the firm’s execution and portfolio management systems.

Ye brings over two decades of experience spanning TradFi and digital assets, including 14 years in research, portfolio management, and product development.

She is a co-founder of the institutional investment company CoinBridge and remains with them in an advisory capacity.

Earlier in her career, Ye was chief investment officer at investment firm Avenir Group and worked as portfolio manager and as head of research at venture capital company Decentral Park Capital.

She also held senior research and product roles at Fidelity Digital Asset Management and CoinDesk Indices.

Ye holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from Peking University in China, a master’s degree in operations research from MIT, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Speaking on the appointment, Anton Katz, CEO and co-founder of Talos, says: “Kelly has built research and investment products at both traditional and digital asset firms, and she understands how institutions use research to make decisions.

“She will help our clients interpret markets as more assets move onto digital rails.”

Ye adds: “We're moving beyond digital assets toward digital markets, where traditional and onchain finance are increasingly connected.

“Institutions need rigorous research that explains how this shift changes liquidity, market structure and investment opportunities.

“I look forward to building on the team's work and making Talos Research a primary reference for the market.”
