Northern Trust has entered into an agreement with Lukka, a provider of digital asset data infrastructure, to offer an institutional-grade digital asset reporting capability.

The partnership will expand Northern Trust’s services to include improved access to digital asset data, giving clients access to transaction history and point-in-time balances with past views.

According to Lukka, its platform is designed to support institutional use cases spanning reporting, valuation, compliance, and risk workflows, which Northern Trust will leverage to support connectivity across over 100 blockchains and 400 centralised and decentralised exchange sources, along with custodians, OTC desks, wallets, and onchain activity.

Commenting on the collaboration, Justin Chapman, group head of strategic partnerships, digital and financial markets at Northern Trust, says: “This relationship with Lukka allows us to deliver a critical capability, bringing together digital and traditional asset reporting, while continuing to build toward a more comprehensive, interoperable and connected digital asset servicing model.”

Kiet Tran, CEO of Lukka, adds: “Institutions need digital asset data that is complete, normalised, and audit-ready.

“Lukka’s platform brings together on and offchain data across wallets, blockchains, venues, and custodians, helping firms deliver consistent reporting with the controls and transparency expected in traditional finance.”
