N3XT, a blockchain-powered narrow bank, is expanding access to its institutional-grade deposit token for businesses, the N3XT Digital Dollar (NDD).

NDD is backed one-to-one by cash or short-term US Treasuries, with reserves matched to tokens.

According to the firm, institutions will be able to use NDD to send funds to blockchain addresses outside of the bank, automate multi-party payment logic, manage liquidity, and reduce cross-border payment costs compared to TradFi rails.

Regarding the initiative, Jeffrey Wallis, co-founder and CEO of N3XT, says: “Traditional banking forces businesses to mould their financial operations to rigid settlement schedules and multi-day clearing delays.

“By bringing real-time, on-chain dollar liquidity directly to businesses, we're providing them with true accessibility and autonomy over their capital.”

Scott Shay, N3XT co-founder, adds: “Our mission at N3XT is to enable the transfer of actual US dollars with the speed of crypto.

“Businesses everywhere should be able to make immediate, secure transactions without having to choose between flexibility and peace of mind.”
