Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Securitize.
The MoU outlines plans to advance tokenisation and digital asset infrastructure across Dubai.
The institutions will collaborate through knowledge sharing, ecosystem development, and regulatory engagement, seeking to foster “responsible innovation” in tokenisation and allowing licensed market participants to access Securitize’s global capabilities.
VARA and Securitize will explore Dubai-based initiatives, including projects started or facilitated by the regulator and the broader market ecosystem.
Talent attraction, market education, data-driven research, and the evolution of tokenised financial products operating within the region’s regulatory framework also take precedence.
Regarding the partnership, Carlos Domingo, co-founder and CEO of Securitize, says: “As tokenisation moves from concept to mainstream financial infrastructure, collaboration between regulators and industry becomes increasingly important.
“We are proud to support VARA's vision of building a trusted, well-regulated digital asset ecosystem that enables responsible innovation while helping bring capital markets onchain.”
Matthew White, VARA CEO, adds: “Dubai's ambition is to ensure the future of financial markets will be shaped not only by new technologies, but by the regulatory frameworks and market infrastructure that give institutions the confidence to adopt them.”
