LMAX Group, a cross-asset marketplace, has launched the Omnia Exchange, an infrastructure layer said to afford users the ability to convert assets in real-time via a single API.

Omnia unifies FX, crypto, and stablecoins, among other digital assets, in a single platform, according to the firm, which is said to allow businesses access to unified wholesale liquidity and pricing.

The exchange will provide users with the ability to trade assets directly against others round-the-clock, send value across borders, access liquidity, in addition to settling on both traditional rails and the blockchain.

David Mercer, CEO of LMAX Group, believes Omnia will provide the foundation for “a new paradigm in capital markets delivering the ability for institutions to exchange any asset, anytime, anywhere,” and by affording firms access to wholesale FX and global digital asset markets, LMAX Group is “removing barriers, reducing friction and, unlocking liquidity”.
