BitGo, through its Prime subsidiary, has introduced its global liquidity layer, infrastructure for institutional trading within Prime that connects clients to global digital asset markets.

The layer aims to address an increase in fragmented liquidity, requiring institutions to manage several trading relationships, technological integrations, and operational workflows simultaneously to access markets efficiently.

BitGo says its new initiative will combine trading, financing, collateral management, and settlement capabilities, which will be bolstered by the firm’s regulated custody services.

The layer also supports low-touch execution and high-touch trading, collateralised borrowing and lending, portfolio-based financing solutions, and counterparty risk management, with settlement for all offerings occurring through the Go Network.

Regarding the launch, Adam Sporn, head of prime brokerage and US institutional sales at BitGo, says: “Institutions want infrastructure that simplifies how they operate across global liquidity, financing, collateral, settlement, and asset security without stitching together multiple providers.”

Matt Ballensweig, managing director and head of BitGo Prime Trading, adds: “Institutional clients expect confidence in how orders are executed, transparency into pricing and costs, and the flexibility to manage assets in the way that best fits their business.

“That's why BitGo’s trade offering combines liquidity sourcing with flexible settlement, financing, and custody, giving institutions the freedom to operate on their terms.”
