Barrientos joins Wells Fargo

Natasha Barrientos has joined Wells Fargo as head of digital assets within its global payments and liquidity business, following a year-long stint at Galaxy as vice president, strategic opportunities, blockchain infrastructure.

Her duties will include shaping the firm’s institutional digital asset strategy across payments, liquidity, and financial market infrastructure, alongside providing support for corporate, commercial, and institutional clients.

Barrientos brings over 15 years of financial services sector experience to her new role, including time at S&P Global and John Hancock.

She was educated at Columbia School of International and Public Affairs, obtaining a Master of International Affairs in Economic and Political Development.

Commenting on her appointment, Barrientos says that she is “grateful for the opportunity to help build out this franchise at such an important time” for the industry, and that she is “looking forward to what’s ahead”.
