Standard Chartered has appointed Luke Giancarlo to the position of executive director, digital assets, Americas, following a two-year stint as director at Fintech Innovation Lab.

Giancarlo brings a decade of financial services experience with him to the position, with senior positions at the Digital Dollar Project — advising policymakers and industry leaders on financial infrastructure — and Accenture — making recommendations to C-suite executives on enterprise modernisation.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Drexel University.

Commenting on his appointment, Giancarlo says: “It's a privilege to join one of the premier digital asset teams within banking and work with Rene Michau and Jennifer B. Lassiter through a pivotal moment of emerging US regulation.”
