Ripple has appointed Joseph Thompson to its trading and markets team, focused on its tokenisation strategy and delivery, following almost a decade with London Metal Exchange (LME).

Thompson will depart LME on 31 August 2026, stepping down from his current role as senior vice president, head of treasury.

He also served as liquidity management and funding manager with Deutsche Bank’s group treasury arm, liquidity risk manager at ICAP, and as an analyst for collateral and liquidity management risk at London Clearing House (LCH).

Thompson holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Brighton, and he has worked in the financial services sector for over 15 years.

He is also certified with the Association of Corporate Treasurers.
