Kaleido, an enterprise-grade blockchain and digital asset platform, has appointed Bryan D’Souza as its head of business development for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

D’Souza joins Kaleido after seven years with enterprise software and distributed ledger technology firm R3, where he most recently served as institutional growth lead, MENA.

He also serves as an advisor for digital infrastructure and international trade development company Smart Trade Africa.

Earlier in his career, D’Souza spent just under a decade with Societe Generale’s corporate and investment banking arm, finishing his time there as an associate in business management on cross-asset execution.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems from Brunel University of London.

Commenting on his new position, D’Souza says: “The MENA region is at an exciting inflexion point in the institutional adoption of digital assets, tokenisation, and blockchain infrastructure, and I’m looking forward to working with leading banks, financial institutions, financial market infrastructures, and ecosystem partners across the region to turn this opportunity into real-world production use cases.”
