Ledger, a digital asset security firm for individuals and institutions, has commenced support for Canton Coin and the broader suite of digital assets on Canton Network.
According to the firms, Canton institutional users will gain the opportunity to hold, manage, and transfer secure digital assets using Ledger products.
Ledger Enterprise has expanded its hardware-backed institutional wallet to the Canton Network, leveraging multiple validators to add additional safeguards.
Clients will be able to apply hardware security module (HSM)-backed governance and key management throughout their operations, spanning digital payments to securities custody.
Commenting on the initiative, Sebastien Badault, vice president of Enterprise at Ledger, says: “Canton plus Ledger puts institutional-grade privacy and market access for digital assets in your control.
“It opens up access to Canton via Ledger’s secure wallet and institutional self-custody platform, backed by uncompromising security, so institutions and custodians can unlock even greater utility and scale for privacy-enabled digital assets, stablecoins, and applications on the network.”
Eric Saraniecki, head of network strategy at Digital Asset and co-founder of the Canton Network, adds: “Canton was designed to give institutions and investors the benefits of a public blockchain without compromising privacy or control.
“Integrating Ledger’s industry-leading hardware security brings another critical layer of trust to the Canton ecosystem.”
The firms say that their collaboration indicates a growing demand for an open network that maintains privacy and independent control over assets, data, and applications.
